Heritage Hall Museum is featuring the largest privately owned Indian artifact exhibit in the state of South Dakota with over 450 artifacts. In addition, two large buildings include autos, motorcycles, pioneer tools and machinery, household furniture,large wildlife display.

Dakota Territorial Museum

Owned and operated by the Yankton County Historical Society, the Dakota Territorial Museum preserves Yankton's pioneer heritage. A wide collection of Native American Sioux (Lakota) and pioneer artifacts and memorabilia are displayed in the main museum building and a number of historical buildings located on the property, including the Gunderson Rural School House, the Great Northern Railway Depot and a Burlington Northern Caboose. The museum is located in West Side Park.
